A program that focuses on creating conversations about Carbondale issues has turned five years old, according to city officials.
Carbondale Conversations for Community Action, the study circles program of the Carbondale Human Relations Commission, has tackled three major issues in its half-decade -- building strong neighborhoods, community-police relations and race and racism. The conversations on each topic has generated action plans and sessions in which the public can participate.
The next such program, Map Your Neighborhood, will have its next meeting July 23 at 5 p.m. in the Carbondale Civic Center. Any Carbondale resident is welcome to attend.
Interested parties can receive notification of future meetings on this and other conversation for community action events by contacting the city office at 549-5302 x 386 or at .
